Aussie Sapphire is very proud to announce this new product to our range - this is the complete double barrel kit for rock tumbling.
NOTE: this tumbler operates on 230 Volt power.
A lot of development work and thorough testing has gone into this tumbler to come up with an improvement over the existing options.
You can be confident in product quality with a 12 month warranty on manufacturing faults (excludes consumables or damage from incorrect usage).
Popular double barrel version with extras included as below:
- Auscut Smooth 3 (Aussie AS-1.5) tumbler base
- Two 3 pound (1.5 kg) rubber barrels
- 500 grams each of #80, #220 and #600 silicon carbide (coarse, medium and fine grit)
- 500 grams of #14,000 Aluminium Oxide final polish
- 250 grams of plastic pellets (filler media)
- One bag of rocks - just to get you started in tumbling
- Small bag of findings so you can make something from your tumbled rocks (key chains, bead cages, etc)
Note that you can run either one or two barrels with a barrel guide at either end. More reliable motor and improved ventilation in the housing means the tumbler runs cooler than the Lortone 33B for longer life. Integral on/off switch for added convenience. Tougher cogged drive belt for improved belt life and performance.
Now selling the Mark 3 version of this tumbler fitted with roller bearings on the shafts - these do not require lubrication. However, we do recommend a drop of oil to each bearing infrequently (every 3-6 months or so) to assist with disassembly if you ever need to dismantly the machine for repair (eg. shaft replacement, etc).
Oil is available separately for those who have purchased the Mark 1 version (from May 2023 to Jan 2024) - these do require the nylon shaft bearings to be oiled monthly.

Great
By: Cassandra on 5 November 2024I got the double it’s very easy to use and not very loud so that’s great even like the stones that came with it but not sure what they are most are black so have them in only week 2 and I have some sapphire in the other one so can’t wait to see the rest

Excellent Product
By: Brynn on 13 November 2023Was very happy with the quality and finish of the product is very well constructed and everthing about it feels quality even the on/off switch is also quite quiet especially after the first hour when the belt wore in, Tumbled my first set of rocks and ran flawlessly. Was looking to purchase a lortone 33b but so glad I came across this one because in many ways is a superior machine for a better price. Already considering buying a second.

Great little Tumbler
By: Glenn on 24 October 2023I recommend this tumbler. I would add to the discussion to also pry apart the metal lid from the rubber lid if the rubber is bulging toward the tumbler when checking or changing grit. I think the outgassing finds a home between them. -perhaps I am not tightening then lid down as hard as I could? lol

Aussie Sapphire Response
REPLY FROM AUSSIE SAPPHIRE: Thanks for your feedback. Outgassing can cause a problem with barrel leakage so you want to keep an eye out for it - some material will outgas more than others. Some people like to give a bit more room in the barrel by pushing the barrel down on a jar when closing the lid. Keep an eye on the base of the barrel as it rotates (particularly in the first day or so) - if you see it bulging, then just open the lid to release any excess gas (some like to call this "burping the barrel"). If the outer lid is a bit hard to take off, you can use the barrel nut washer to help lever it off by just twisting it between the lid and the barrel recess. Dont over-tighten the barrel nut - it should be finger tight but if you go too far, it will not be as secure. Clean the lid recess before putting the lid on. Hope these tips help. Enjoy your tumbling.
