Porcelain Ceramic Polishing Media - Rock Tumbler Mix. 1kg Lot

 

This mix contains approximately equal parts of the following shapes:  6mm balls (spheres), 6x6mm triangles, small 3x8mm cylinders and large 12x25mm cylinders. Note that individual shapes are also available separately in the Metal Polishing subcategory.

 

Run these for a short period before using to "break in".

 

 

 

Plastic pellets are traditionally used as filler media for tumbling - they are cheap but do have a couple of disadvantages.  They need to be separated for each batch as grit carries through into subsequent stages and with their much lighter weight and density, do not work well in Vibratory Tumblers. 

 

Porcelain shapes have a similar density to rocks so work well in Vibratory Tumblers as a filler rather than moving unevenly through the load or floating on top.  Porcelain shapes can be used right through the tumbling process and just topped up as you lose volume - a lot more convenient.

 

If you have insufficient rocks to run a full batch, just make up the load with our special Porcelain Tumbler Mix.
